Our Worship & Creative Arts Department hosts seasonal art exhibits highlighting and celebrating Grace Center’s visual artists and their work. Join us as we partner with God in cultivating community around the arts and encouraging creativity within our community. You are invited to view our upcoming exhibition, Nashville Dogs, featuring artist Camille Moore, which opens with a reception between first and second services in Grace Cafe on July 25. We hope you will join us for refreshments and a word from the artist!
About the Collection
HOW CREATIVE IS OUR GOD?
To me, dogs represent facets of some of God’s personality, sense of humor and mind-boggling creativity.
DOGS CAN BE:
Companions
Full of personality, funny and childlike
Reading Partner
Protector
Seeing for us
Hearing for us
Smelling for us (from diabetic symptoms to bomb squad)
Work for us and with us
Warm and soft - tactile
Teach responsibility
Help with social isolation and anxiety
Emotional bonds
Increased empathy toward others
WHAT’S WITH THE MURALS?
ART brings people together. City Murals bring a bit of light, laughter, selfies and sometimes poignant messages. AS GOD TRANSFORMS OUR CITY, I hope we will see more and more art-in-all-forms to represent God’s beauty and message of hope and love in even the most simple ways. MY HOPE FOR THIS ART SHOW is to bring a bit of fun, laughter, happy memories and to perhaps spark creativity and ideas in others. ENJOY! - Camille
